Arenado should bat cleanup since he’s back.

That was fun last night. Moments like that have been few and far between this year, and it is nice to see when they do occur.

But man, Goldy is sure lost. I would play Baker the rest of the year and see how he responds. Do it professionally though – talk to Goldy and say “we need to see if this kid can be consistent enough to help in the future, and the only way to do that is have him out there getting the reps day after day.”

Rewarding Baker with a start today would have been positive reinforcement. Seems like that is a rare commodity these days.

In around 45-50 atbats so far Dylan Carlson is hitting .267 with 3 homeruns and 9 rbi’s for Tampa.

That’s quaint, Brian. Zeros and ones don’t need positive reinforcement.

Better OF defense rather than bench Burly is fine with me.

Goldschmidt not in the lineup should take the sting of Baker not getting a spot start today. Besides we may need him late in the game if they move to a lefty. Which they will with this lineup.

Lizard king needs to watch Contreras and Hoskins today. Maybe he can go 5 without any real damage being done.

How many games are left? I figure we take this series and then run the table.

See if they’d listened and hit Arenado 4th he could have had another salami in the third.

No score in the top of the 5th at Sportsman Park.

And the Doyers just DFA’d Jason Heyward.

Remember the good old days when a starter with a shut out going wouldn’t get pulled. Some of them wouldn’t tolerate getting pulled out of a shut out.

Cards jump out in front 3-0 with three runs in the last of the 7th. A bases loaded walk, an rbi groundout, and an rbi single by Avocado.

Romero in for the 8th inning…….

This is Mikolas. Let’s get him out while we have a lead. Lol

Barring a collapse it appears we have this one. Brewers have been known for late inning magic tho.

A couple of nice days of baseball in an otherwise blah campaign.

Thankfully tomorrow night’s game is an AppleTV event so I won’t waste 2 1/2 hours on the couch watching another loss. I can actually be productive doing….oh, I don’t know. Maybe dig out a jigsaw puzzle, although that is usually a winter hobby around here.

3-0 Redbirds the final at Sportsman Park.

    On to Minnesota.

Time to get ready to watch the Reds and Pirates from Forbes Field.

Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch with a couple of 7×50 Palma Real cigars.

The guy on bump tomorrow might be just what we need besides a solid Pallante start.

Well ratsbuddy, talking of the reds. Im in their home ballpark at the greenday concert. Will be my last trip to cincy though. Traffic was crazy. Gps going to garage took us to wrong spot, we ended up under the stadium where they deliver food. Funny nobody paid us any mind. Had to reverse out. Just crazy.

Well, they’re back to within one win shy of .500, so maybe they can keep it going and close out the season with a look of respectability.

I loathe losing. But the chaos and weirdness has to stop. Whatever that takes. The Walker fiasco was the final straw for me. There’s no trust left for this front office/ownership group. It was nice beating Milwaukee the last 2 games. But the cows already out of the barn.

Yeah, we once had something called, “Whiteyball.” This collection of Cardinal bosses could be characterized as, “Oddball.”
