Quality Start in the books for Miles. The D support has been very good but no run support.

Miami outscores us 16-14 in the series, then goes to the Stadium and gets shut out 7-0 by the mighty Bombers.

Gotta pick up the pace here and start plating runs.

Never understood Schwarber hitting lead off all the time.

He Will always get the most plate ap’s for one. Also the DH will see pitches to hit. and if you have a good 8 hole OBP guy it is a reasonable strategy methinks

When Contreras can swing a bat won’t he DH for a few games while Herrera gets some starts at C?

Goldy hasn’t hit but has made three great plays on defense. This club looks like vintage Cardinal teams in the field. Need to get the bats awake.

Many years back, when it seemed like Albert was always grounding into DPs, a guy on the next barstool proposed that he bat in the leadoff slot because he would have one less chance to GIDP each game. That would be 162 less chances in a season.

If Contreras had been healthy, he could have pinch hit for Scott there with Siani pinch running for him. Alas . . .

Of the top 10 all time leaders in GIDP, 9 are members of the HOF. Julio Franco at #10 is the only player who’s not a member of Cooperstown. Edit…Whoops, I made a mistake. M. Cabrera’s not yet a member.
