jj-cf-stlParticipantQuality Start in the books for Miles. The D support has been very good but no run support.
April 8, 2024 at 8:11 pm #247176Miami outscores us 16-14 in the series, then goes to the Stadium and gets shut out 7-0 by the mighty Bombers.
Gotta pick up the pace here and start plating runs.
April 8, 2024 at 8:13 pm #247177Mikolas may take the L tonight but not his fault at all. This is who “good” Mikolas is. 6 innings and 2 runs. That should be enough.
April 8, 2024 at 8:18 pm #247179Nado had a legitimate beef on that one – outside per the pitch track. But this guy has been tough. Looks like he is back to his pre-injury form.

jj-cf-stlParticipantA full three times thru the order. Well done.
April 8, 2024 at 8:25 pm #247182Never understood Schwarber hitting lead off all the time.
He Will always get the most plate ap’s for one. Also the DH will see pitches to hit. and if you have a good 8 hole OBP guy it is a reasonable strategy methinks

jj-cf-stlParticipantHerrera needs a place to start, just to see if he cools off.
April 8, 2024 at 8:28 pm #247184In addition to Winn, Herrera is looking good as well.
April 8, 2024 at 8:29 pm #247185Noot can’t DH ?
April 8, 2024 at 8:30 pm #247186We really need to get Burleson out of the lineup when Noot returns. Enough already.
April 8, 2024 at 8:32 pm #247187“He Will always get the most plate ap’s for one. Also the DH will see pitches to hit. and if you have a good 8 hole OBP guy it is a reasonable strategy methinks”
Too many strikeouts for my liking. He would be more in the 5 or 6 slot for me.
April 8, 2024 at 8:36 pm #247188Be careful here. Edit…Got a GIDP!
April 8, 2024 at 8:37 pm #247189Good job Liberatore. Come on offense! Wake up!
April 8, 2024 at 8:37 pm #247190When Contreras can swing a bat won’t he DH for a few games while Herrera gets some starts at C?
April 8, 2024 at 8:37 pm #247191Goldy hasn’t hit but has made three great plays on defense. This club looks like vintage Cardinal teams in the field. Need to get the bats awake.
April 8, 2024 at 8:41 pm #247192Many years back, when it seemed like Albert was always grounding into DPs, a guy on the next barstool proposed that he bat in the leadoff slot because he would have one less chance to GIDP each game. That would be 162 less chances in a season.
April 8, 2024 at 8:41 pm #247193If Contreras had been healthy, he could have pinch hit for Scott there with Siani pinch running for him. Alas . . .
April 8, 2024 at 8:41 pm #247194Too many strikeouts for my liking. He would be more in the 5 or 6 slot for me
Oh I see your point but maybe his skipper just wants to see at least one AB where the the mighty turtle can’t GIDP!
April 8, 2024 at 8:44 pm #247195Goldy keeps letting that first pitch go by and it is the best pitch to hit in the sequence.
April 8, 2024 at 8:45 pm #247196Of the top 10 all time leaders in GIDP, 9 are members of the HOF. Julio Franco at #10 is the only player who’s not a member of Cooperstown. Edit…Whoops, I made a mistake. M. Cabrera’s not yet a member.
April 8, 2024 at 8:46 pm #247197Now Gorman can’t pull the trigger on the first pitch – center cut.
April 8, 2024 at 8:48 pm #247198Julio Franco played until he was around 100.
April 8, 2024 at 8:49 pm #247199Goldschmidt and Gorman fail again.
April 8, 2024 at 8:51 pm #247200Haha!…Actually he was 62 and cashed in on his SS benefits in his first year of eligibilty.
April 8, 2024 at 8:52 pm #247201Libby looked good – would have stuck with him.
