Our skipper gets no points for originality…..concerning his lineup cards. Goldy should dong a couple tonight. Go Cards!May 15, 2019 at 7:02 pm #90781
Our guys need to welcome this rookie pitcher to the big leagues…bases loaded one out for Goldy…time for a round tripper.May 15, 2019 at 7:09 pm #90782
And the goon grounded into a double play. Wish Carpenter wouldn’t had gotten hit.May 15, 2019 at 7:10 pm #90783
…or a double play. Gotta get those runners home. Acuña is now in scoring position after a steal. None out for the Braves.May 15, 2019 at 7:13 pm #90784
Goldy, you’re killing us out here!May 15, 2019 at 7:21 pm #90785
Wow, what a huge blunder… Acuña’s speed turns a pickoff into an error and a Braves run. Bad play there.May 15, 2019 at 7:27 pm #90796
Did we have a play on Acuna? It didn’t appear like it was worth the risk with the way most of the staff likes to airmail balls the previous 3 seasons.May 15, 2019 at 7:38 pm #90798
Maybe we should start calling him Walka.May 15, 2019 at 7:51 pm #90801
The Cards are facing a rookie they’ve never seen before…the script could pretty much write itself at this point.May 15, 2019 at 8:03 pm #90803
Right you Stlcard25. We should have kicked the tires a little harder on Gio last month when he was out there for the taking. He’s dealing another spiffy game for Milwaukee tonight in the City of Brotherly Love…..I once took an oath promising the adherence to “virtue, diligence and brotherly love”……but it was in Bowling Green, Ohio and not Philadelphia, Pa.May 15, 2019 at 8:05 pm #90804
And the cubbies may not lose another game this year……doubling up the Redlegs late in the Queen City.May 15, 2019 at 9:07 pm #90805
Shutout after one day after scoring double digits. Sounds about right.May 15, 2019 at 9:09 pm #90806
Didn’t even need to watch to know that would happen. Really need to start betting against us after an offensive explosionMay 15, 2019 at 9:13 pm #90807
Well, we didn’t lose any ground at least. Eugene hit a two run dong in the last of the 8th to tie the game and then the Reds walked in off in the last of the 10th on a hit by Puig. 6-5 Reds.

This team is really starting to remind me of the 2016 club…offense could score in bunches when it had good games, but also struggled to score at all when it didn’t score 8+ runs. Staff was mediocre and the bullpen was decent but with a few maddening games.May 15, 2019 at 9:37 pm #90812
2-4 in the last two series with a +14 run differential. In the last 13 games they are 3-10 with a mere -9 run differential. It’s feast or famine for these Cards right now.May 15, 2019 at 10:11 pm #90818
Shildt needs to tinker with that lineup a bit. I’m getting sick of him trotting out that same batting order. Continuing to leadoff with Carp is just plain silly at this point. Bat him 7th until he gets it together. Try this:

In a came as close as this you can’t come up empty with runners in scoring position and make bonehead plays like we did tonight. The homer in the 9th off Gant was icing on the cake of a crappy evening of STL sports.May 16, 2019 at 7:07 am #90823
CMart not impressive against AA hitters but the FO really played that down.
Ozuna changing agents from Boras to Yadi’ agent. Can you smell extension? Not possible with Bore-Ass who has an aversion to extensions – it affects his bottom line evidently.
“Shutout after one day after scoring double digits. Sounds about right.”
This is really getting to be a habit huh?
