Let’s hope we get the good Dustin May today…….you know, the one who tossed a 1 hit complete game shutout vs San Diego and handcuffed Brewer batters in both appearances against Milwaukee…..and not the bad Dustin May that got royally tattooed in Atlanta and Kansas City.

Din-din today will be a return trip to The Del-Bar up in the Wisconsin Dells. You know those cheap flimsy lobster tails that so many establishments like Red Lobster serve. Well that’s not what you get at The Del-Bar. For only $70 you get 2 big fresh plump tasty lobster tails and all of the fixings.

I am doing the Box Combo from Raising Cane’s again. That is 4 chicken tenders and sauce, frenchfries, cole slaw, potato salad, Texas Toast, and a Diet Mountain Dew.

Hopefully we can beat the snakes again tonight.

Din-din here in SW Indiana today will be Hungry Man’s Fried Chicken TV dinner, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, a couple of Butterfinger candy bars, and a bowl of Turkey Hill Original Vanilla ice cream.

Sure is hot here too. Around 90 again today. We’ve had alot of heat and humidity the last couple of weeks.

We are meeting up with the Lovely Lady Bike’s brother and his wife for a bit of a late lunch at Olive Garden. Given that we will likely have a light din-din later this evening, like a bowl of cereal and toast type “din-din”.

Not working today’s Rox-Reds tilt, but will be back downtown tomorrow for the series wrap-up.

Watched the condensed version of our Friday game this morning. Give Masyn Winn the player of the game on that one, with an honorable mention to MM and JJ.

Last night’s 8th inning illustrated the immediate negative impact of losing Romero. The Cardinals watched as a 2 run lead instantly evaporated, but were able to overcome adversity as they responded with a tie breaking run in the 9th and were then able to hang on for the W. In any event, I don’t know who it will be but, one of the arms from the BP is going to have to emerge as a reasonably viable setup man or it may get more than a little hard to watch. One thing I’m entirely certain of is that last night’s selection as the arm to work the 8th inning is nowhere near to being the solution.

Church has really taken a dive in the manner of 2 for 32 in his last 12 games.

May’s looking like he might replace Liberatore and take title as the weakest link in the rotation.

I went and saw the Big Boy train this morning. Slept like crap and the crowds were insane. So I haven’t dined yet. Might be Cozy Dog. I may make Chorizo Chili in the slow cooker for tomorrow or maybe a late night 4th meal. Lol

May has looked very pedestrian since his little ailments popped up. His FIP says he should be better but his value is dropping a little from a trade standpoint. Might not be the haul we though we could get from him and JoJo. Still a couple weeks to right the ship.

It’s 5-1 now and the Cards have the bases loaded and one out. Winn strolling to the dish.

    Here is their chance…….

Cardinals bases loaded down 5 to 1 here in 6th. New pitcher coming in. Arizons manager totally mismanaging this inning but thats to the cardinals advantage. Stats show theur starter gets rocked third time through order but manager lets him give up run plus load bases. Will see if cardinals can come through.

Herrera is 3 for his last 28 and his last 30 games are nothing to write home about. Either way both are garbage and one for some reason made the all-star team.

Hopefully we can play .500ish ball and cycle some more guys up from Memphis. I’ve seen enough of Church, Jordan, Crooks and Torres. The bad guys have been looking at Herrera every day and maybe figured him out. That odd stance requires a lot of movement to load up. And his fixed arm is no different. Fermin is exposed playing most every day, but we probably expected that. Jordan was supposed to play more but that didn’t work. There is no reason not to look at Mendoza and Baez at some point.

I doubt we get much for Romero and May. Not a haul anyway. Might get something for Noot, but that leaves us with one outfielder and a hopeful at Memphis. I don’t expect much deadline excitement.

It seems like Our Bill wouldn’t want to buy a new $12 Million pitcher this winter without a new CBA in place and MLB up and running. I can see starting out with a rotation like an asphalt street that hasn’t been patched in 20 years.
