Cards.TV // KMOX // WIJRThe Cardinals get the 3rd chance this season to reach 10 games above sea level as they continue to play well. I saw some comments on another thread that focused on whether the Cardinals will buy, sell or stand pat at the deadline. In my estimation, the only thing this team lacks is someone named Manny…If the one they call Bloom can somehow add a Manny, any sort of Manny, that cunning and crafty move will undoubtedly vault this team into the post-season.
1TD, if the season ended today the Cardinals would be hosting the Phillies in the playoff wild card round. Yikes.
Is it raining down there in St. Louis? Up here in Springfield Illinois, it’s storming like crazy. Hope we don’t get washed out. I’m aware I could look it up, but I don’t want to step on Rat’s Buddy’s toes, who’s our resident meteorologist. 🙂
According to the Doppler Radar all the green stuff is just north of the greater metro St. Louis area. The game should see no delays.
Having said that, this huge pile of green stuff appears to be heading towards us here in central and SW Indiana. I hope we get a bunch of rain because we sure do need it.
And din-din today is the weekly trip to the Amish restaurant, the Gasthof. Fried chicken, fish, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, perhaps sweet potatoes and/or boiled carrots, sweet iced tea, some cherry or blackberry cobbler, and some soft serve vanilla ice cream to top things off. Then sit out on the bench in the porch area and have a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar.

We prepared for tonight’s sweep with a din-din of cold cantaloupe, ricotta and spinach tortellini with pesto sauce, iced tea and a finisher of Haagen-dazs vanilla with chocolate syrup.

It’s dry as a bone here in StL, but the wind is really kicking up some strong gusts. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we see a few plays you’d expect to see at Candlestick or Wrigley.
Winn’s been making solid contact lately, but hasn’t had it pay off for him. It’d be nice to to get him going with the bat.
We do have a rested pen. Might be a mail it in Marmol game where Svanson and the other guy finish it out.
I am home from work but am entertaining my two year old grandson, so we are watching Bluey instead of the game. go Cards.
We had better get something cooking soon because the Padres have the best closer in the game in Mason Miller. Once he enters a game the party is over.
Haha…You can’t go wrong with Bluey and Bingo! Either one is first rate entertainment, not only for the little ones, but paw-paw Bling too. I know the words to all the songs and never fail to respond in the affirmative to the little commander when she says, “Turn on Bluey, paw-paw”…
Doesn’t look good. Please get rid of Roycroft and Bruihl!!!!!! Cards had chances against mediocre pitching and failed repeatedly. Is Crooks really anything special? Haven’t seen much from him yet.
FYI here,
Ohtani started today against the Rays at Doyer Stadium. He gave up four (4) earned runs in the 5th. His ERA is now 1.49.So much for 1.12.
Not sure the fascination w/ Roycroft….he has shown countless times he cannot get major league hitters out….Racjic has had a couple of bumpy outings at Memphis lately but he is a clear upgrade.

I have no issues with getting rid of Roycroft but we only have 2 lefties in the pen and Bruihl is one of them. Doesn’t appear they seem to care otherwise they’d done something other than audition a bunch of junk ballers in the off-season.
