Was that fouled or did Herrera just miss that completely? In Peoria watching the Chiefs currently.
Deathball not working today? I saw Felix Fermin botched on in the outfield to plate 3 for Boston.
The jump from AAA to MLB is quite large and low power guys like Church often see the biggest drop off in there performance as pitchers start challenging them.
Yeah, he is basically Siani in a lot of ways GScottar. The only difference is that he had one good season hitting in the Minors. I don’t think Siani ever had one.
Soriano looks sharp again. He probably goes another inning and then it’s Shuster the rest of the way if our offense continues as it has been.
Walker with another rocket off the bat. The ball just comes off his bat differently with his elite bat speed.
Wetherholt quietly approaching the Mendoza line. Herrera also not hitting much. I wonder how long boy blunder stays with that top of the order.
Didn’t see the game but just checked the box. Top half of the order doing all the work today. Bottom half largely unheard from. Prospects and fill ins not producing today. Pallante giving up 10 hits in 5 innings is going to be hard for any team to overcome. Better pitching and lead off production could take advantage of Walker and Burlesons power. Gormans too.

Walker has had a great couple of weeks but let’s see what happens when the league adjusts to his (finally after two years) adjustments. Two weeks does not erase two years; neither will two months but – at least he’s doing something.
Winn’s inability to stay healthy in his early 20’s is concerning regarding trying to sign him up to a long term deal.
League batting average has been about .245 for the past few years so – anyone hitting under .240 is suss for sure.
League on base percentage has been about .320 for the past few years so – there’s the line.
Another tater from Walker was the only highlight from today’s game. His 7 HR’s in only 15 games and 55 AB’s is impressive, but he’s also collected 18 hits which translates to a real nice .327 avg. Last season it took him 363 AB’s to collect 6 taters. In any case, he also leads the team with 17 K’s, so we’ll just have to see if he can sustain any sort of consistency with the bat. He’s still only 23 and has now collected 1100 PA’s so maybe he’s beginning to figure out how to hit Big League pitching.
To be fair, no one other than Walker is hitting right now.
I’m really dissatisfied with Herrera & Burly. Walker is mashing and they’re almost all solo shots. Our three table setters are not setting the tables.

To reach 2 million comes to 24.7k over 81 games. As of yesterday the Cards were averaging 27.9k which comes to 2.25 million.
If Walker keeps hitting bombs, the fans will come out. 1998 all over again? Do chics still dig the long ball?
Also did not see this one as we were visiting family today and kicking around. Saw the box. Wish we could get someone better than Pallante, but I doubt too many other team’s #5 are any good either.

I mean who else would he put there today? JJs OBP was .359 headed into the game. Issue is he’s only had only 2 Xbh. Herrera only has 3 Xbh but had a .369 obp. Burly, Walker and to extent Gorman have been getting on. Just really not a consistent offense with too many guys not getting on the same page so far.
But hey its early. We’ll find out eventually what we have.
