I cannot watch Vilade bat anymore, he has no clue! If Walker isn’t ready, call up someone up who will at least get on-base a few times and not be an automatic K.

    On a good note……

The Cubs lost last night. 4-3 Philadelphia in 11 innings at Veterans Stadium.

And the Doyers won over the Padres 8-7 in 10 innings at Jack Murphy Stadium. Machado got rung up on a very borderline strike three in the last of the 10th. He got in the umps face and Shildt came out. It would have been ball four and could have meant the difference in the game.

Plus the Braves won over the Brewers 7-1 at County Stadium in Milwaukee.

I am off to the Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes. First I will stop at Lowes, then the museum, then get me some Kentucky Fried Chicken for my late lunch.

How was KFC, Rat? Their pot pies are pretty decent. Last din-din I had there was 2 chicken littles, pot pie, mashed potatoes with gravy and cole slaw. Then I drifted a few blocks over to the drive-thru lane at Popeye’s to snag a few apple cinnamon pies.

Din-din tonight was a simple spinach and Boursin quiche with a green salad and a glass of Rose d’Anjou. No dessert. It’s only Tuesday after all.

I have a strong hope that our birds will get back on the winning track tonight while I am sawing timber in my dreams.

    Rah Cardinals.

    Pugs…..

KFC was pretty good. I got the 3-piece dinner. Dark meat, extra crispy this time. Along with two of their mashed potatoes/gravy sides. Then I stopped at the grocery on the way home and picked up some deviled eggs. Then after I had my KFC I had another chocolate shake.

Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch tonight starting around 6:40. We will watch the first few innings of the Reds/Indians from Municipal Stadium then switch over to Sportsmans Park for the game between the BlueJays/Cardinals. Then later tonight the Doyers/Padres from Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego.

The homeplate umpire (Mike Estabrook) that pretty much blew the call last night on the strike three call to Machado will be at 3rdbase tonight. I wonder if him and Machado might have some words? And the worst balls/strikes umpire in the game will be behind home plate tonight calling balls and strikes. That would be Laz Diaz.

This Doyers/Padres game could be interesting late tonight…….

Mikolas should pitch decently tonight. Have to keep “Captain” Kirk & Co. in check. Let’s call it 6-4 Birds(the red ones) with Donovan playing a little long ball, shall we.

Looks like no cigars for Rat tonight. Going on a health kick, Rat?

Not that it means anything, but these two teams start tonight’s game with identical W/L records. I also happened to notice that Toronto’s SP’er once endured a season with the A’s at the age of 26 in which he went 1-8 but managed a very respectable 3.56 ERA. That’s a lot of snake eyes and box cars.

Herrera’s been placed in the 2 slot for tonight’s game. He has 2 PA’s from that position in the batting order for his entire career. I’m guessing that after seeing the 3 run tater that he ripped last night, the Cardinals are grooming him as the heir apparent to Aaron Judge.

Winn leadoff and Herrera 2nd is new. I see Oli remembered to stagger tonight. Burly ahead of Nado works anyway.

Noot was looking like he should miss a start, and we have Volare´ off the bench for heroics.

Great finally retiring “Captain” Kirk. Mikolas settling in very nicely now having retired the last 7 Jays. Even though we’re holding the short stick in this 3-0 ballgame, this is still a game that we should win.

Gorman ties the game. Now Oily can pinch hit for him when a lefty comes in.

The Redbird bats have been doing all they can to bail the team out the last couple of games but the pitchers don’t seem to appreciate the help.

Yeah, jj, Miles has allowed 9 hits already. That’s not exactly scattering them around.

Keep it a 2 run lead and a solitary baserunner gives us a chance in the last half.
