Here’s to hoping Dr. Pozo gets the start. Fedde needs fixed (see Mikolas).

May the 4th be with you.

Cards need to Stay Alive in the WC race – queue the Bee Gees.

    Thank God for the Pirates.

Again, not much activity on here.

Mets lead 2-1 heading to the last of the 3rd.

Willson Contreras homered in the 2nd for the Redbirds run.

UPDATE: The low pressure system that is causing all the rain here in the midwest is just circling around and could hit St. Louis again later. Might see a delay in this one and the 2nd game might be postponed. More rain here in SW Indiana.

Two two-out two run singles in the 4th have the Redbirds up 6-2. Mets making a pitching change. Cards with runners at the corners. Tidwell big league debut over.

Gorman up. Here comes a strikeout most likely.

Din-din today is a ribeye steak in the air fryer, some jumbo crinkle cut french fries, some deviled eggs, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a chocolate shake.

UPDATE: Norman flies to left. At least he made contact.

6-2 St. Lou after four innings.

Gorman should have made that play. It should have been a double play. I hope he didn’t open the flood gates.

Avoided a catastrophe there. I almost knew something real bad was going to happen when Romero ran it full to Alonso, but the HPU rang him up for the K looking.

Redbirds hang on to win this one 6-5.

Mets had the tying run at 3rd with two outs in the 9th but Acuna hit a little weak pop fly on the infield that 3-4 Cardinals converged on. It was a recipe for disaster but they backed off and let Barrero catch it for the final out.

Well, we tried to give it away but just couldn’t manage it. I’m off for a cool drink and then to bed to happily slumber through the night cap.
    Rah Cardinals!

Busy doing yard work today as we are supposed to get a lot of rain the next few days. We almost let the Mets sneak away with this one, but hung on.

A buddy of mine is a big Tigers fan and they come in this week. He got a few of us tickets for Thursday, which looks good for now but Tuesday and Wednesday look like they will be washouts. Maybe a DH Thursday with our buddy Flaherty going in one of them – we will see.

Same for me as BikeMike. I caught a little of this game while eating, but then stepped out to do some much needed yard work. It has rained here non-stop for a week and is supposed to most of this next week. The one good thing about the rain is it made it much easier to dig some trenches to put drainage pipes in.

Willson ties it with the solid 2 out RBI base hit. If the Cardinals can sweep this DH against this first rate Mets team it’ll really make a powerful statement! I’d say we’re well on the way to a…2 game W streak?
