5:40 p.m.
RHP Miles Mikolas (0-2, 5.70) vs. RHP Brady Singer (3-0, 3.18)
FanDuel // KMOXApril 29, 2025 at 7:32 am #280640This team really needs Ivan Herrera back to provide a spark offensively. The offense overall has been above average with a 105 wRC+ and tied league best .263 BA. But the offense has been very hit or miss due to some holes in the lineup. Herrera should shore that up.
It looks like Herrera expects to start a rehab assignment Thursday so hopefully mid week next week he is back.
April 29, 2025 at 8:11 am #280643Herrera will help for sure if he’s the same player when he gets back.
We will see how May goes – that will be roughly 1/3 of the season by the end.
April 29, 2025 at 11:09 am #280649It’s raining here in SW Indiana. And the forecast for the Cincinnati area is for rain.
We’ll be lucky this one gets in without at least a delay.
April 29, 2025 at 4:26 pm #280667Any word from Cincinnati about the conditions at Riverfront Stadium? The Doppler Radar shows it should hit Cincinnati about the time of the first pitch.
I’d say we will be lucky to get this one in tonight. And if so, get ready for a delay. Perhaps a lengthy one.
I guess in the meantime we can all watch an episode of Cannon or Barnaby Jones.

p.s. it is pouring here in SW Indiana
April 29, 2025 at 4:52 pm #280669Tonight's game between the #STLCards and the #Reds has been postponed because of approaching storms. It will be made up tomorrow as part of a split doubleheader.

jj-cf-stlParticipantThanks
April 29, 2025 at 7:39 pm #280674At least we get a day without a loss added. But tomorrow might be ugly.
April 29, 2025 at 8:21 pm #280678Which RP do we think will be back up tomorrow as the 27th man? Roycroft, Munoz, Fernandez, or Graceffo? None of them are great choices. I would choose Graceffo to be the long man for the Mikolas game. Fernandez needs some time to focus on improvements.
Speaking of RP, I really want to see Svanson start getting more opportunities. No point in letting him rot in the pen. Throw him in there and see what he has.

jj-cf-stlParticipantOli earns a grin by putting Winn batting second, and he homers.
April 30, 2025 at 12:15 pm #280702Great, just great.
The first two batters reach in the top of the 3rd. Winn slugs a popout and then Donovan grounds into a DP.
This team just can’t hit.
They sure can slug though.
No, wait, they sure can try and slug.
April 30, 2025 at 12:25 pm #280703
jj-cf-stlParticipantMikolas retires his 7th batter in a row. 40 pitches after 3 IP.
April 30, 2025 at 12:38 pm #280704
jj-cf-stlParticipantMiles lost his curve that in inning, needs it for strikes or they sit on hard stuff.
55 pitches after 4 IP.April 30, 2025 at 12:46 pm #280705One run through five innings in this one. That’s two (2) runs in 14 innings in a hitters ballpark.
WHY CAN’T THIS TEAM HIT?????
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?????
April 30, 2025 at 12:52 pm #280706
jj-cf-stlParticipantMiles curve is still floating around, but Pozo went to the changeup w/2 strikes, to continue disrupting timing.
70 pitches after 5 IP.April 30, 2025 at 1:10 pm #280707
jj-cf-stlParticipantAn extra out doesn’t help. Two on and Oli goes to the pen. Good pull, Miles soft stuff was questionable.
Leahy in.April 30, 2025 at 1:16 pm #280708
jj-cf-stlParticipantLeahy ends the inning. Miles had 2 ground balls and 9 fly balls. W/2 on in Cincy’s ballpark…. Good pull.
April 30, 2025 at 1:22 pm #280709
jj-cf-stlParticipantBottom of the order loads the bases for Noot.
April 30, 2025 at 1:23 pm #280710
jj-cf-stlParticipantLine drive DP ends the rally.
April 30, 2025 at 1:29 pm #280711Hits it right on the screws for the 4-3 DP.
April 30, 2025 at 1:30 pm #280712
jj-cf-stlParticipant5 outs for Leahy on 14 pitches.
1-0 StL after 7 innings.April 30, 2025 at 1:35 pm #280713
jj-cf-stlParticipantBoth the arguments are with the ump calling the strikes correctly. What else could it be? Lol.
April 30, 2025 at 1:39 pm #280714HPU almost always gives that 3-0 call to the pitcher for a strike. Just another example of the countless occurences of the Cardinal manager not knowing when to keep his mouth quiet. He’s like a little doggy…”Yap yap yap”. Stupid to get tossed from this game with a slim 1-0 lead in 8th. I sometimes wonder how the whiz-kid got to be so smart.
April 30, 2025 at 1:42 pm #280715
jj-cf-stlParticipantI like these old school low scoring games Dom.
April 30, 2025 at 1:46 pm #280716I do too, jj. A lot of people prefer lots of runs, but those low scoring games can tend to turn your heart into a Buddy Rich drum solo. Game 5 of the ’11 NLDS…
