11:10 a.m.
RHP Andre Pallante (6-12, 5.44) vs. RHP Brady Singer (11-9, 4.06)
FanDuel // KMOXAugust 30, 2025 at 8:40 pm #291632For a guy as big and as strong as Walker is he sure hits a lot of little weak outs. Little weak groundballs and little weak popouts. He hit two popouts last night. One that barely made it to the pitchers mound and the other in foul territory that was about even with the pitchers mound.
And Winn was swinging like a maniac again in two crucial situations.
Whatever happened to simple, smart, fundamental baseball???
August 31, 2025 at 7:51 am #291637Walker is approaching 1,000 career PAs with a career OPS+ of 91, and it has been around 70 the last two years, which is pitiful. Even so, there is nobody less pitiful pushing him out of the lineup.
I noticed that while his teammates struck out 12 times last night, Walker didn’t strike out. Maybe he was just trying to make some contact.
August 31, 2025 at 8:40 am #291643The Reds are fading faster than a speeding bullet… I think they are on a 5 game cooler.
Pallante has liked a bit stiff in his delivery lately. I hope he hit the club scene in Cincy last night and put some wiggle and rhythm into his wind up.
August 31, 2025 at 9:59 am #291644Pallante looks to me like he has pitched enough for the season. I hope he doesn’t get hurt overdoing it.
The leg of lamb yesterday turned out great. It was on the charcoal grill for an hour and then brought in and put in a roaster with chunked up veggies, including the last couple tomatoes from the back yard. When it was done Lady bling made a pan sauce.

jj-cf-stlParticipantMakes you wonder what a fresh look from upstairs in 2026 will look like. More of the same would be disappointing.
August 31, 2025 at 11:17 am #291648A sweep of this series is unlikely with Pallante going. In fact the Reds could very well end their frustration and put up double figure runs today.
I am a broken record on Walker. He does have some amazing power that shows once in awhile. His problem though is he sort of waves at pitches – his body momentum is largely wasted because he does not drive towards the ball. Any power he gets is from his arms and wrists. If he could learn to put his entire body, the lower half in other words, into the pitch he would stay on the ball better, and not miss as many of those pitches on the outer half, plus he would be downright scary when he squares pitches up. He could be Judge 2.0.
August 31, 2025 at 11:29 am #291650Today’s game features the best looking road uniform in all of baseball.
August 31, 2025 at 11:44 am #291651Putting Prieto at 2B with Pallante pitching is ridiculous. Prieto is not good anywhere – at best passable at 3B. It’s going to be an adventure. Add in Saggese at SS and Gorman at 3B.

jj-cf-stlParticipantCongratulations Jimmy Crooks.
August 31, 2025 at 2:56 pm #291654Looks like our boy Walker shifted a lot of air around there at The Great American,
August 31, 2025 at 3:14 pm #291655Walker, Gorman, Nootbaar – I say cut ties with them this off season. Get what you can for them. If that’s three sacks of Idaho potatoes or ten catfish fiddlers that’s good enough.
This lack of hitting has gone on long enough.
August 31, 2025 at 3:26 pm #291656I still have a bit of a soft spot for the Nooter, but I’m in favor of buying a couple of Greyhound tickets for the other two.
August 31, 2025 at 5:50 pm #291658Why CIF???
Why the love for Nudie Bar?
He’s a career .240 hitter.
That’s all he’s ever been.
That’s all he will ever be.
.240 hitters simply do not cut it.
August 31, 2025 at 5:53 pm #291659Noot will be making 2nd year arb money next year. 2 years of control left.
September 1, 2025 at 7:57 am #291671Because, Rat, I just kinda like his attitude.
And the entire Cardinal BA is .249, so Noot not much diff.
I’m a little disappointed with him too but I’d give him another season’s look, though perhaps not leading off.September 1, 2025 at 8:45 am #291672Why the love for Nudie Bar?

He’s a perfectly average outfielder, who has produced 1.8 WAR this year and 9.8 WAR over 5 seasons. He doesn’t hurt the team.
If you are going to complain about Cardinals outfielders, complain about Jordan Walker.
