Hopefully Pallante will ride the wave and turn in a good start today.

The crowd at Busch last night was good. I was afraid that Cubs fans were going to outnumber Cards fans but they did not and it wasn’t even close.

The kid umpiring from the stands was also a cute human interest story.

Here’s to the Cardinals crapping on the Cubs parade again today.

50/50 on Andre having his knuckle curve, which usually defines his outing. You can only bounce a pitch so many times before batters take it early. Without an offspeed pitch to disrupt timing, two and three times thru the lineup can get expensive on a relievers arsenal. Inviting that many pitches that need blocked, again, I’ll expect Pozo/Pallante.

The crowd was solid, not great. About 10K under capacity..Tonight should be the best attended game of the series. Saturday early evening and everyone has the the Yadi 411 ( snicker). We may see 38-39k tonight. Feel like a Marlins fan when the Yankees comes to town.

Crow-Armstrong, Tucker, Busch, Suzuki…..almost the whole lot of them other than Nico, haven’t been hitting a lick these past few weeks. How could an entire team hit so well as a collective unit for months and then all become so offensively anemic at the same time for 3 weeks running now? I guess the only logical explanation can be that both good and poor batting habits are indeed contagious. Let us pray that these now hapless cubbies stay contagious as long as humanly possible…….so long as it doesn’t spread on over to our dugout, as we’ve already had more than our fair share of it this season.

Nothing to do with this thread, but I just counted the number of pitcher season-ending surgeries across MLB this year and it’s around 60. Tommy John is over half of those followed by Shoulder surgery followed by Elbow surgery.

If Arenado suddenly retires, here’s the lineup.

Maybe they saw enough of Herrera in LF. I’m not sure why else they would be DHing him and playing Burly.

Pallante’s starts look a lot like Mikolas and Fedde! Over before tbey start really! Doubt he is someone who tbey will ever be able to count on as a solid starter!

I guess the Death ball wasn’t working tonight. Lol

Yeah Idk either. Right now the only thing he has going for him is that he’s inexpensive and that might be coming to an end next season.

Donovan was scratched with left groin tightness. Supposedly precautionary.

Cards up 1-0 from 6th inning on which is a new Manfred rule that gets applied on the 2nd day of Yadi in the dugout.

    Milwaukee wins again tonight.

They beat the Mets 7-4 at Miller Park.

Front Row Amy was in attendance.

The Cubs will remain five games behind the Brewers.

What does the big crowd think of this fiasco?

Likely some of them aren’t phased. A few of them drove a long way for the first time and this pretty much made them decide they won’t drive this far for a ballgame the rest of the season.

Winning will bring the fans back. It isn’t complicated.
