We are up 2-0 bottom of the 3rd…I guess old Waino did alright.

Waino’s fastball was sitting at 90 to 91 mph.

Two-run HR given up by Lyons put Twins up 3-2. Game now in 6th with Lucas pitching.

Ozuna’s homerun was a powerful sight. It’s nice to have that thunder back in the lineup.

Heard an interesting stat on the telecast. Only three of Ozuna’s 37 homers last year were against LHP. That concerned me so I looked at his splits. Turns out his line against lefties was fine: .307/.385/.425/.810.

Waino worked out of his rusty control issues…good to see

glad to see his velocity was up over 90…i hope it is like that later in ST when he is in the 5th and 6th

If not perhaps a bullpen role would be good to harness what he has left…if he can get into the 6th with over 90 on the fastball then all his breaking stuff will work just fine and he can use his guile and pitch selection to do just fine in the rotation…

he won’t ever be that #1 Ace guy again, but a solid vet backend starter has a ton of value

Would have been even better to not have the control issues in the first place, but it is something to build on.

i dont understand why every other pitcher gets a free pas with knocking off rust in their first outings but Waino does not…i think he has earned it

If you are commenting to me, I did not give anyone a free pass. In the case of Wainwright, given his last good season was 2014, there is reason to be skeptical. Would always welcome a solid return. Just not expecting it. I will applaud the day he enters the Cards Hall of Fame.
