Craig stepped in and shut the Yankees down in long relief in game four of the 1964 World Series, the “Boyer grand slam” game, and played a big part in turning that series around.
Only pitched for us that one year, but it was a big one. He was a good pitcher for the Dodgers in his early career – probably better known as the hard luck pitcher for those loveable loser early Mets teams, as well as a successful manager for the Giants in the ’80s.
