I assume there is data that shows how many hits the shifts have taken away over the last few years. But is there any data that shows how many hits were allowed because of the shifts? For example, I mean a ball hit right to where the 2ndbaseman or shortstop would have been if they had been in normal position instead of shifting that goes for a hit.
I don’t think it is publicly available, but there is definitely data on both. And, since they are still doing it, it takes away a lot more hits than it allows.
