With the following, we should be okay at run production. Here were the slash lines in 2017 –

    Carpenter – 622 PAs – .241/.384/.451/.835
    Fowler – 491 PAs – .264/.363/.488/.851/
    Pham – 530 PAs – .306/.411/.520/.931
    Ozuna – 679 PAs – .312/.376/.548/.924
    DeJong – 443 PAs – .285/.325/.532/.857
    Gyorko – 481 PAs – .272/.341/.472/.813
    Molina – 543 PAS – .273/.312/.439/.751
    Wong – 411 PAs – .285/.376/.412/.788

    Martinez – 307 PAs – .309/.379/.518/.897

We might have been a tad short on runs in 2017 because Fowler, Gyorko, DeJong, and Martinez played less than full seasons. With the addition of Ozuna, and if health holds, we should have a powerful and balanced lineup.

What’s interesting, is if you added up all the OPS stats of the Cardinal starters in 2017, the aggregate was actually higher than the aggregate of the Cubs starters. Even without Ozuna. The PAs stat is where we fell short.

Seven players with an OPS north of .800. That sure seems to be pretty strong.
