Although we lost the series against the Phils, I noticed for the first time in our offense that drive and determination in battling back. It still seems with some of our hitters that they are pressing to much and always trying hit the long ball esp when we get down by a run or two, or when runners are in scoring position even in the early innings. I would like to see a series of games where we score 5-6 runs a game without the help of a homer. Just put a series of hits together. It may not be as glorious but still effective.
I’d like that too but every hitter swings for the fences it seems. A good hitting coach would pickup on that and have hitters make adjustments as the season progresses but Mabry is our hitting coach…. enough said.
