If someone would have asked me way back prior to even the advent of the expansion Marlins, I would have guessed that any Big League team anywhere in FL. would have thrived. I’m wrong a lot, but I entirely missed the mark with that assumption. And I’m also probably wrong in my belief that if an area is populated with genuine baseball fans and are presented with a Big League team that’s competitive, those fans will show up and support that team whether or not they play in a fancy new venue.
