I screwed up and made a bunch of posts on the wrong day’s minor league thread. So I deleted them and am reloading them here. Sorry about that…

    1 (Springfield rained out)

During the rain delay, I watched Memphis. Woodford has allowed three runs through the first three innings on just over 50 pitches. That makes 13 runs in his last 13 innings. Maybe he would have pitched differently in Philly, but then again, San Antonio doesn’t have Harper and Hoskins.

To his credit, Woodford really buckled down and did not allow any runs in the fourth through seventh innings. His breaking pitches were working especially well.

Speaking of which. Check this out.

Sound familiar? The Redbirds couldn’t get enough offense together and lost, 3-2. It is their eighth consecutive defeat.

You can always spot a Bob Reed report as it’s chock full of stats and goodies. Nice write-up. Glad to see Torres starting to get some traction.

Agreed. Bob is a fine addition to the team. He covers Monday and Wednesday games.

    Bob is an excellent writer.

And way to go Torres!!! Maybe he won’t have to do short season after all.
