Peoria vs. Cedar Rapids (AM): Alvaro SeijasLittle Juan with 2 triples for Peoria today. Siejas last 5 innings giving up 3 runs but then Whitely complete wet the bed. Peoria down 2-7 in the 8th.
Gant had a really good spring. Would not be surprised to see him in St. Louis relatively soon as the shuttle picks up speed.
Palm Beach rained out. Double header tomorrow starting at 5.
Peoria lost 6-8. Tried to make a late comeback in the 9th but fell short. They did manage 3 runs in the last inning.
Memphis already up 7-0 through two innings in the home opener. Seven hits, but just one for extra bases. Everyone getting in on the action.
John Gant, who is among the #STLCards options on the I-55 shuttle, tossed seven shutout frames for @memphisredbirds tonight. He's allowed just one earned run over his first two starts (13 IP) for a 0.69 ERA on season.

I’m hoping Gant can bring us a mid season prospect equivalent of that which Marco Gonzalez brought us last year (O’Neill).

This was Gant’s 2nd good outing. He pitched 6.0 (GS 62) in season opener. So far, he gives the Cards some extra depth in the starter position behind Flaherty. I would have confidence in him needing to start for STL, but that window might be closing soon with the others we have talked about, advancing.
