DSL Red vs. Cubs2Oviedo is still young, but he’s a project. I’m less concerned with Seijas given his age. I think he will come up to the level of the league by the end of the season and perhaps be ready for Palm Beach next year. Although, repeating Peoria wouldn’t hurt for either because this is their first time in a full-season/cold-weather league.
One of the sleepers I denoted after looking up and registering the stats of all of our draftees was
10th round pick Kevin Woodall. Big first baseman at 6’7, 245 lbs. from Coastal Carolina. He only hit .300, but smashed 19 home runs in only 233 at bats and had 62 RBI. Had an OPS of 1.009. Just noticed that he’s batting clean up for Johnson City tonight. Could he be a dark horse?Gorman slash after tonight’s game. 308/.439/.717/1.156.
18 years old in the Appy League. So far quite an improvement over other high school first round picks Plummer and Perez.
Has 11 walks and 13 K’s.
