Since being promoted to the @memphisredbirds, Junior Fernandez has continued his breakout season. The power right-hander has a 0.73 ERA, striking out 16 batters in 12 1/3 innings. #STLCards

And Fernandez is still not being used in key save situations while they keep trotting out Ellis, Beck, Elledge and Cruz.
Other than helping Memphis win more games in a lost season, why does it matter in what innings Fernandez pitches? How he is being used now is probably closer to how he would be used in St. Louis. He just needs innings. Which ones are far less important in his development, IMO.
P.S. Elledge is a prospect in his own right, though not moving as fast as Junior. Elledge was bombed in his Triple-A debut, which skew his numbers, but since then has been very good.
