Memphis at Colorado Springs: Kevin Herget
Springfield at Tulsa: Conner Greene
Palm Beach at Clearwater: Anthony Shew
Peoria vs. Clinton: Zach PrendergastMay 17, 2018 at 5:21 pm #52807Cardinals are doing Memphis no favors leaving them 2 pitchers short for all of these games. Springfield has an open roster spot as well. Godoy will most likely be the starter for Springfield. Chinea remains the backup and starting 1B with Nogowski still out. Palm Beach now has an open roster spot as well.
May 17, 2018 at 5:45 pm #52816I wonder if Jenner is having regrets today?
May 17, 2018 at 5:49 pm #52818I was thinking the same thing CC.
May 17, 2018 at 5:51 pm #52819My guess (and it is only a guess) is only if he knew they would actually let him play. It had to be frustrating getting shuffled around only to catch bullpens. Every player wants to play. He got into 52 games in 2016 and just 37 last year and I don’t recall him spending any time out due to injury. Then this year, he had to stay in EST for a month with the kids. At least Molina’s rarely-used back up gets MLB pay and benefits. 😉

Here’s how the Redbirds will line up in the series opener with Colorado Springs. First pitch is at 7:40! pic.twitter.com/ke37pdq382

May 17, 2018 at 7:01 pm #52828I didn’t understand the organization keeping Baron over Jenner to begin with but both of them figured into being minor league backups so there really didn’t need to be a big discussion or blowup about it. Only it didn’t exactly work out that way. I even commented I thought it was odd how the Cards were handling Jenner coming out of MILB spring training.
May 17, 2018 at 7:43 pm #52840FWIW, when I did my annual roster prediction series in March, I had Jenner in “limbo” status at Memphis. Seemed pretty clear to me at that time, there was no fit for him without injuries to others.

ParticipantIn a surprising move, the Cards have re-signed Jesse Jenner and added him to the 25-man roster. He’ll be in the St. Louis lineup tonight as the starting catcher and batting cleanup. Who says we don’t give our prospects a chance.
On a much more serious note…. who thought that Jenner’s name would be invoked so often after he basically walked out.
May 18, 2018 at 8:14 am #52913TCN's #stlcards minors Player of the Day Juan Yepez doubled, homered and plated 4 in @GoPBCardinals' road victory. @Sgf_Cardinals also won, but Memphis' skid continues and Peoria's 7-game winning streak ended. https://t.co/3t2HkaME4T pic.twitter.com/BIlBKZL5sZ

May 18, 2018 at 8:22 am #52919Strange things can occur when the MLB club puts two catchers on the DL at once…

ParticipantStrange things were happening with 0 catchers on the DL anyway.
May 18, 2018 at 9:54 am #52936Excellent point.
