Memphis at Colorado Springs: Dakota Hudson
Springfield vs. NW Arkansas (2): Connor Jones/Jacob Evans
Palm Beach vs. Bradenton (2): Casey Meisner/TBA
Peoria vs. Kane County: Evan Guillory
The #STLCards system was 2-2 on Sunday as Player of the Day Dakota Hudson and Evan Guillory helped Memphis and Peoria to wins. Springfield dropped a home twin-bill to slide into 2nd place and Palm Beach was unable to play for the 2nd straight day. https://t.co/HqVULB8uOupic.twitter.com/gueRhpQgQO
I can’t help but wonder if Matheny’s and the Cardinals organization’s willingness to give so many rookies a chance to play at the major league level isn’t what is making some of these players get hot. Hope is a powerful motivator.
I like Mercado a lot. If he can become a reasonably patient hitter and maintain his power going forward, he should have a future in MLB somewhere. His defense and speed should play in CF.
