DSL Red vs. Phillies WhiteAugust 11, 2018 at 9:47 pm #65041Andy Young has 2 more hits tonight and 18 HR for the season. His fielding as a second baseman is .986. Is this player a mirage, or what?
August 12, 2018 at 8:11 am #65055The #STLCards system was 5-3 on Saturday. Player of the Day, Memphis 3B Ramon Urias, went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Memphis, State College & DSL Blue staffs spun combined shutouts behind Chris Ellis, Franyel Casadilla & Enmanuel Solano. https://t.co/DRcfCaq9um pic.twitter.com/YFqSlBMCBo

August 12, 2018 at 9:44 am #6507214NyquisTParticipantFranyel Casadilla pitched his best game of ’18 last night, going 7.0inn (GS=73) in a State College win over Auburn. Casadilla struggled earlier in the season and has recently been returned to the rotation.
Brian Pirela also pitched a dandy also, going 7.0inn and earning a 71 GS. Pirela is the only starter that has taken every turn for the GCL-birds this season.
It should be noted that State College (SS-A), Johnson City and Coastal Cards have gone with five-man rotation this season, breaking away from the 6-man in most recent years. No other pitchers on any of the other short-season teams has taken his every turn.
SC and JC have turned over their entire rotations with some disappoint during June. I don’t know if that was planned from opening day or not to get more guys some starts.
August 12, 2018 at 9:58 am #65075Anyone know why Alexander Fagalde didn’t pitch yesterday?? Only good reason I can figure is that Lakeland threatened to forfeit in advance of the game if they had to face Fagalde. And Elvis Montero’s defensive continues to be of great concern.
August 12, 2018 at 10:03 am #65076As mentioned in the Notebook, they had three hours of rain delay before the Palm Beach game could start. So that could have been it. Or just bad info on the scheduled starter, as news from Roger Dean is hard to come by. The infamous Tim Venus, Jupiter’s media rep, departed for another solar system so the PB media guy has to cover two jobs.
August 12, 2018 at 10:03 am #6507714NyquisTParticipantIt was Guillory’s spot in the rotation. Fagalde’s comes up today at home v. Lakeland.
August 12, 2018 at 10:17 am #65080Thank you gentlemen. The over/under on Fagalde’s Game Score today is 81. I like the over.
