Does Gorman never not homer in a game!! I bet he could out produce Fowler in the show right now. That’s what this team and it’s fans need right now….
an 18 year old phenom to get excited about. Not going to happen for obvious reasons, but it sure is fun to dream!! And my statement stands….this kid puts Fowler to shame right now.

Oviedo with a nice game tonight…7IP, 5H, 2BB, 1ER, 7K. He and Seijas have really been powering the pitching staff at Peoria lately.

Austin Warner had a good start at Memphis tonight too. It would be good to see the next wave really start to materialize the rest of this year and build some excitement for these guys at the MLB level in a couple years.

    Oviedo & Fagalde, stlcard25?

    * ok, see you changed it, but don’t forget about Alexander “The Great” Fagalde too, stlcard25.

I actually meant Seijas, but Fagalde was great while he was there. He’s since been moved so he’ll be powering a new pitching staff now!

Yeah another oversight! No way Fagalde belongs in Palm Beach. He’ll mow that league down with the greatest of ease. The way he pitches, he sure as heck should be in Springfield as we speak. The man has a ticket to the show….and he’ll be taking a well deserved bow or tip of the cap soon after arriving.

No wonder Fagalde is so exciting. He’s a product of Troy Persival’s
    mentorship!

    Oviedo’s last month…5-0 in 5 starts with a 2.40 ERA, 27K/14BB in 30 IP. He has a .178 avg against and a 1.10 WHIP.

Seijas since June 30…2-2 in 6 starts with a 3.34 ERA, 26K/18BB in 34 IP. He has a .248 avg against and a 1.43 WHIP.

Walks continue to be an issue for each of these guys, but they have kept runs off the board and gone deeper into games and given their team a chance to win. At 20 and 19, it’ll be interesting to see if they’re able to take a jump forward next year or if this was just a bit of a mirage.

Springfield could use some help in their rotation. Pearce has been sloppy in his first two games back from the DL, and O’Reilly has not been the same pitcher since that hastily planned trip to the Memphis bullpen in late May. Those six games of relief there threw him out of whack and he still hasn’t recovered. Whoever was responsible for that move was totally off base. He wound up back in the PB rotation anyway and has lost his touch that was getting to be so successful.

Fagalde to Springfield? From EST to AA? Sounds unbelievable for a pitcher projected to spend ’18 in some remote bullpen in the organization. It sounds like he is in the Leake-type mode of pitching. I don’t know what to expect of him moving into August. Its been fun following him this season… much the same as O’Reilly’s 2017.

FAGALDE TO SPRINGFIELD…..FAGALDE TO SPRINGFIELD!! Maybe if we say it enough times it’ll happen soon….it does kind of have a ring to it. Thank God Mo didn’t jettison him out as an afterthought in one if those recent trades. Here’s who I’m projecting for 2020:

    1. Flaherty
    2. Mikolas (extended thru 2023)
    3. Poncedeleon
    4. Fagalde
    5. Hudson

Griffin Roberts debuted yesterday in the GCL. Rough start to his profesional career.
