In case you missed it, Ozuna is on his way to meet the Cardinals in Oakland.

Seems like there are people that think Woodford is the real deal. But he is 6-6 with an ERA of 4.11 at Memphis. And that is supposed to be good???

Also, where do the Redbirds stand with Alex Reyes at the moment?

I’m not sure if he’s the real deal or not, but is still 5th in the PCL in ERA and was 2nd after Gallen before his last start, which was pretty bad.

Why did Yadier come out of the game in the 5th?

Rats, you really need to start looking at things other than just W-L records and ERA. Here is a list of pitchers with a 1 year stat that you wouldn’t like. However, I bet you would want every one of them on the Cardinals right now.

    Verlander 11-17, 4.84
    Verlander 15-12, 4.54
    Cole 12-12, 4.26
    Scherzer 9-11, 4.12
    Scherzer 15-9, 4.43
    Greinke 5-17, 5.80
    Greinke 10-14, 4.17

Probably because it Molina’s first rehab game and first action in a month. Carpenter left an inning later. Rehab guys don’t usually play a full nine.

Those records were at the big league level. Not the minor leagues.

Sad thing is, Houston is just one of those names away from having ALL of them.

It doesn’t matter where it happened. It is still wins and losses and ERA. Obviously, that is all a person needs to evaluate the quality of pitcher.

    Rat,
Did you get to see Woodford in any of the spring training telecasts? Having seen him a few times, the eye test says major league starter. I like him better than Helsley as a starter. He is very close and looks to be a workhorse.

How about Adam Wainwright as a 23 year old in AAA. 10-10, 4.40 ERA. He was an ace in his prime.

His last start he gave up 10 runs. Considering your post is lamenting his 4.11 ERA, it would be hilarious if you’d decided to post this just 2 days ago.

Bull, just to prove your point, his ERA on July 25th was 3.47.

And he won’t be 23 until late October.

Paniagua’s Game Score of 74 was by far the best of this season for the GCL-Cards.
