June 6, 2023 at 12:17 pm #223560Batista made his debut for DSL today and from the box score he looked good: 5 IP, 6 K, 3 H. I wish they gave the pitch count for FCL and DSL but I digress. Its early but hopefully he turns into a viable arm for this organization.
June 7, 2023 at 8:26 am #223672The #STLCards system was 5-0 on Tuesday. TCN's Player of the Day is DSL Cardinals DH Arfeni Batista, who was 2-for-6 with four RBI and two runs scored in the DSL win. Other standouts include Yordalin Pena, Chris Rotondo, Pedro Pages, and Ivan Herrera. https://t.co/X4kZ5d7XLK pic.twitter.com/VuMhOvFtr3

June 7, 2023 at 11:35 am #223679A lot of Batista’s down there. It took me a minute to figure out who did what.

June 8, 2023 at 3:45 pm #223791Chandler Redmond has appeared in the field only at 1B since advancing to AA to start the 2022 season. I take it 3B and OF are no longer considered possible. Is he on a par with L. Baker defensively then? We are basically seeing how his power develops?
June 8, 2023 at 4:14 pm #223796Baker is a better first baseman defensively. I can’t really picture Redmond playing the outfield anymore. He’s just too big. But Matt Adams did it so I guess it’s possible. He probably wouldn’t be worse than Yepez. I believe he’d still be playable at 3B in a pinch. But IMO, Baker is the better prospect. They are both the same age (Redmond 2 months older), drafted in the same class, but Baker has a season and a half at Memphis and great results there this year. Redmond has never played above AA and was fairly poor there last year (much better this season). So Redmond would be behind a lot of guys – Goldy, Burly, Yepez, Baker. His only plus is that he is left handed. I personally don’t see him ever becoming a major leaguer for the Cards.
June 8, 2023 at 4:22 pm #223797Thanks for the lo down Redmond.
June 9, 2023 at 3:00 pm #223847The #STLCards system went 4-1 on Thursday. June 11, 2023 at 9:48 am #224003More of the same from Zack Thompson. I still think something is wrong as I have proposed previously. From late April, before he was sent down, right up to now he has been ineffective. The contrast in the traffic, hits and walks, between his previous self and his recent self is stark. He didn’t just forget how to pitch. If its not a physical issue, and he is attepting to rework his game, it shows no hint of working. How long are they going to keep on with this?
June 12, 2023 at 6:29 am #224110The #STLCards system went 3-1 on Sunday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Won-Bin Cho, went a career-best 4-for-5 with a triple, two runs, an RBI and a steal.
