He was a backup catcher for the Cardinals in 2005 and his brother gave me a JD Drew bat and a So Taguchi cleat today. I thought that was pretty cool.
Very cool, GC! JD Drew – man, that guy looked like a future ‘Famer. Injured quite a lot though and never quite got to that next level.
True. I loved that trade when we made it. I tend to prefer those trades where you give up a good veteran for several younger guys than the other way around. It seems lately we usually do the deals where we give up younger guys for older guys. Sometimes those deals work out, but they bring a little more risk.
