December 25, 2022 at 11:36 am #209877Here is wishing all a Merry Christmas and wonderful Holiday season. Be safe, and enjoy time with the family.
We look forward to more banter with everyone in 2023!!
December 25, 2022 at 11:45 am #209879Merry Christmas everyone!
Less than seven weeks until pitchers and catchers report to Roger Dean and two months from today is the first exhibition game of 2023 Spring training. It won’t be long now!
December 25, 2022 at 1:04 pm #209881Merry Christmas and Happy, Happy, Happy! Yep, it won’t be too long until everyone is making their case for who should get the baseball for the ’23 home opener vs. none other than the Blue Jays…Haha! I genuinely hope everyone was nice and that Santa fulfilled all of the wishes on your list. I woke up this morning to find a coveted hand stitched and finely crafted oven mitt autographed by Bill Buckner and a pair of limited edition Matt Carpenter cleats placed under the tannenbaum…And that’s not all…As a stocking stuffer I got a nice pair of “Skippy Special” batting gloves in which the velcro portion is partially composed of squirrel pelt fibers…These gifts should most definitely vault me back up onto the top prospect lists in ’23!

December 25, 2022 at 4:13 pm #209906Haha! Easy for you to say…You got that slick new Stang!
December 25, 2022 at 4:43 pm #209909Dreaming of those faraway baseball fields and the coming of spring training, I wish a very Merry Christmas to all those at TCN. Din-din today among a number of good friends was champagne with horse douvers, sauterne with the foie gras and little toasts, a lovely Saint-Emilion grand cru to wash down the stuffed capon and gratin dauphinois, salad, a large selection of cheeses, and, a contribution of a British friend, a traditional flaming Christmas pudding, finally to finish off, a glass of 30-year-old Armagnac.
December 25, 2022 at 6:52 pm #209919Merry Christmas. Hope you all stayed warm and received a few goodies today.
December 25, 2022 at 7:32 pm #209921Merry Christmas everyone. CIF, I thought of you when I received a gift of a bottle of booze distilled in Thuir, Pyrenees-Orientales. I am guessing that is southern France.
December 26, 2022 at 5:48 am #209923Thuir is over on the Mediterranean side of the Pyrenees. Used to be known for producing an aperitif called Byrrh (the name kinda makes you shiver), but I thought they went out of business. Still see faded advertising signs for the stuff on the sides of old buildings.
December 26, 2022 at 6:16 am #209924CIF, this is not Byrrh but seems to be operating at that location. From a note enclosed by my generous friend. “Production of spirits since 1892, was first established by the Byrrh brand”.
December 26, 2022 at 8:10 am #209926Well, whatever it is, have a good snort and think of Florida sunshine and baseballs.
