Carpenter seems to be written off by many here. Prior to last year he had an OPS of over .826 in 6 of his 7 full seasons including .897 in 2018.

I’ll take the over on the .800 OPS for 2020.

Coincidentally, for an upcoming article, I prepared this table.

I will happily take the over. Muscles breed confidence, a strong throwing arm breeds fear in awkward vaudeville performers. This off season program will reanimate the monster.

If pressed, I take the over. I’m not sure if that is my heart speaking or not, though. I really want him to be great again, and not just because he’s important to my team. He seems like a good guy, and a guy who really works at his craft. I sure hope last year was just a blip.

Just want to mention that Carpenter needs 1100 PA in 2020 and 2021, with 550 of those PA’s happening in 2021, in order to collect an additional $18.5M in 2022. He had 492 plate appearances in 2019. I’ll take the over.

Is hope for the over and expect the under an option? Forget the 30+ HR, I’d love the 50+ doubles guy with a high OBP.

Hope Carp’s off-season prep includes figuring out a way to handle the shift besides just hitting the ball ovet the fence. That could be a mental game changer.

Agreed, Euro. His (lack of) reaction to shifts is perplexing.

Hope somebody can better educate him on launch angles. I am an old missile man but I don’t think teaching him the ins and outs of ballistic missile trajectories would help too much.
