I just read an article where Katie Woo says the Cards are parting ways with Goldschmidt.
Can anybody else confirm or deny?

They have to offer him 80% of his current salary or non tender him. Doesn’t fit a team that is looking to cut salaries.
Katie Woo and John Denton have put out conflicting reports regarding Goldy. I guess Mo/Bloom will cast the tiebreaking votes.
In a similar situation, Wainwright was non-tendered and later re-signed to a lower contract. However, I do not expect that will happen with Goldy.
I hope Goldschmidt ends up with a club that has a chance to win next year. That won’t be the Cardinals.
Yes, Rat……the official announcement has not been released as of yet, but it’s official……Goldy will not be back in 2025. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the cubbies signed him. I just have a very difficult time envisioning Goldy wearing cubbie blue, just like when Jimmy Edmonds signed with them.

I agree. If Walker signs elsewhere then I fully expect Goldschmidt to return to Arizona. It would seem like a good fit to me. Plus Arizona seems to be more of a hitters park than Busch III.r/Esteemed Rat
He could probably get plenty of time at DH too, Rats, as Pederson’s also set to be a FA. Ay any rate, Goldschmidt would almost certainly sell a few tickets in AZ.
Someone threw out maybe Baltimore might be interested.
The only time I ever bought he was returning was when those rumors were flying in ST. Then I saw him play and realized it wasn’t happening.
