    The first baseman left Monday’s game in the ninth after getting stepped on in a collision with Lorenzo Cain. It is being called an Achilles contusion (bruise). The initial thinking is that it will not require a DL move, but more will be known Tuesday.

    That was a weird injury. You always hate seeing anything like that happen around the Achilles tendon area. Hopefully it is a minor annoyance to Martinez, and he is available to pinch-hit for a couple of days, and get back out and play after that.

    Wish Gyorko was on the active roster. It would be good to get him in there for a few days of regular work. Plus Munoz really needs to play every day in Memphis.
