Should I be worried? I live in SW Indiana and have DirecTV. I catch the Cardinals games on Bally Sports MidWest. Plus I get the Reds, Cubs, and White Sox.

That does not affect the Cardinals. The new news is that the 10 regional networks owned by AT&T are being shut down. The teams affected are listed in the story.
There is also mention of the Bally Networks, which are owned by a different company, Diamond Sports Group (Sinclair). We already have a detailed thread about the Bally Networks here. It has been running a long time so check the most recent pages.

The teams affected by the Sports Net thing got the revenue rug pulled out more suddenly than the Bally crowd. I feel sure teams have seen all this coming though.
This revenue stream uncertainty hasn’t stopped some from committing to huge long term player contracts. On the other hand, many teams, including the Cards, drastically reduced payroll in 2020 due to pandemic related revenue uncertainty. It seems hard to understand that inconsistency in the response to a revenue threat.

It pretty much looks like the general population. Why can one couple, with just one $75K salary, max out two IRA contributions annually, carry little to no debt, and comfortably pay all monthly bills…..while another couple with $225K and $120K salaries is in debt up to their eyeballs and does a juggling act every month to minimally service their financial obligations.
Probably because neither one of the latter couple can walk past a fashionable and trendy trinket without reaching for their pocketbook.
It’s so bad it’s funny, 1td. The actual trinkets that I can remember were way too much house, a Lexus, nicely loaded pickup, couple other nice late model cars for the kids, a Harley, a boat, multiple 5 figure credit card debts, school loans in 6 figures (a couple of those involving private schools). I’m sure this guy was a big Patrick Ewing fan.
Yeah, the old new house on steroids trick seems to get ’em in trouble. We have a couple of them on our street that have displaced the houses that blended into the look of the neighborhood prior to being razed when the property was bought off and then one of these monstrosities was slapped together and put up for sale. None of them are over 5 years old and when I drive up the street or take a little stroll I happen to notice that there’s always a couple of vans or PU’s belonging to residential repair contractors such as an electrician, plumber, etc. parked in the new owner’s driveway or on the street in front of their nice new home…It’s constant and continuous. Looks like an overabundance of headaches to me. And yeah, BW’s probably right…Haha!
My wife had to press the guy on why he should be put in a position of trust given all of his difficulties and obvious poor judgement. He hemmed and hawed with an attitude that he was a victim of circumstances. Yes, it always come back to that and analytics. The circumstance is the lender’s analytics compel them to collect repayment of debt per agreed contracts, haha.
Nothing unusual about this case though, it’s really just run of the mill stuff. It just shows though how at some point the cookies crumble. Technology allowed viewers to change their consumption methods and now MLB is gonna pay. Hooray for the fans! Although this probably isn’t so much the actual MLB fans. It’s average Joe who doesn’t watch MLB who grew tired of paying for bloated cable TV.
