Will someone explain how Mabry got the job as a hitting coach on an Mlb team? Did we owe him a favor from his playing days?

I actually believe we have the potential to be a good offense but our hitters need to make adjustments that goes beyond knowing what the pitcher is going to throw. They need to make adjustments in their swing and Mabry is not the guy to teach them
How much longer must cardinal fans suffer while we wait for Moz. to make a move and fire Mabry. Firing a coach makes a difference. Look at our pitching. We got rid of last years. Pitching coach… Replaced him with one who knew what he was doing and were at the top. Please John Moz… Do the right thing and replace Mabry. Here are some possible candidates. Edmonds, Van slyke, Walker, Coleman, or fredbird.2011, it is great you are here and have a lot to say about the team. However, starting multiple threads on the same topic is unnecessary. Please add your comments to existing discussions when appropriate.
If every poster started a new thread on every comment, there would never be any focused discussion.

i love the excitement of a new poster too…and welcome 2011… but all these new threads are just not helpful…usually the game threads have a lot of these during they ear and some specific ones outside of it…the game threads usually take turns depending on the time of day and when the game is on but you get a lot of people in them and the best chance for good discussion…
But you do what you do…i just dont want you to get frustrated because of a lack of participation
Seems Mabry is a only data gatherer for the sabrematicians, batters with obvious issues continue with the same bad habits and flounder badly while the rest of the team continues to swing and miss as well as strike out at an alarming rates. What is really embarrassing is when consecutive batters will each stand in the batters’ box and watch three strikes go by.
Why doesn’t someone ask the players if Mabry is helpful…. and print the answers.
Some people commenting are carrying torches around trying to get someone fired. Enough already. There have been complaints about the batting coach for as long as he has been here…. and he is still here.
Why do you think that a player who does not work well with Mabry is going to say so to the media? It would have to be a very immature person to throw his coach under the bus publicly – whether or not they mesh.
Is it accurate to assume that if Mark Budaska isn’t promoted soon another organization will hire him? Is he as good as advertised?
