    Ok, just wondering here. Analytics are everywhere anymore. I am just wondering if there is any kind of indicator with regards to homeruns. Specifically what I am talking about would be whether or not a homerun was important/significant or whether it didn’t really impact the game.

    For example, Mike Trout hits a 2-run homer in the 5th for the Angels to tie the game 3-3. That’s important.

    Another example, Mike Trout his a solo homerun in the last of the 8th to make the score 8-0 in favor of the Angels. That’s not really important, doesn’t impact the game as much as the first example.

    So, are there any kind of analytics with regards to meaningful homeruns as compared to non-meaningful homeruns?
