Sept. 20: CF Harrison Bader reinstated from IL
Bader was reinstated from his Minor League rehab assignment after going on the 60-day injured list on Aug. 25 with right foot plantar fasciitis. Bader has not played in a big league game since June 26, when he was with the Cardinals. He was placed in a protective walking boot after attempting to make a rehab appearance with St. Louis’ Triple-A affiliate on July 22.September 20, 2022 at 3:28 pm #201544He is batting 7th and playing CF tonight against Pittsburg.

ParticipantHopefully he does well and doesn’t have to go on the injured list again this season.

ParticipantFor some reason this game is blacked out on extra innings in my area. Makes no sense since I don’t live anywhere near Pittsburgh or New York.
September 20, 2022 at 8:12 pm #201621He’ll shine for the first few weeks like most above average MLers whom have just been traded. If you could only bottle it you’d be a billionaire……..the positive adrenaline rush that these performers obtain that greatly increases their productivity. It rarely lasts though……but in rare cases it does.

ParticipantWell pugs that may be true, but baders average performance would be above most of our roster right now. I actually expect him to do well in new york. On a team with their talent if he just does what he has averaged his last two years and plays great defense and can overcome this injury, it will be a good trade for the Yankees.
September 20, 2022 at 9:18 pm #201649It may very well prove to be a great trade for both clubs, Willie. I’ve never really cared much if a trade works out nicely for both involved teams. I just care if it works out for my team. Besides, it’s kind of a sweet feeling when your team fleeces another team via trade.
September 20, 2022 at 11:29 pm #201701Ok gang we head to the 9th needing 5 to tie and 6 to seize the lead. Come on boys…..this is doable.

Bader has a long way to go before he is as valuable to the Yankees as Montgomery has been for us. Advantage Mo on this one.

ParticipantWell far as baders value to Yankees vs Monty to ours. True Monty has been great but we’ve had other guys very similiar at times. Bader is far above what the Yankees had in his place be it hitting or fielding. Baseball is defined largely by pitching so Monty has that going for him. Like I say the value will be determined long term. If we continue to hit like we have, it isn’t going to matter how Monty pitches.
