Anthony Rizzo’s replacement… Goldschmidt reportedly wanted multiple years, but didn’t get it. He signed quickly after Christian Walker committed.

He should do OK if he isn’t expected to be a 2-3 hitter carrying the offense.

Plan B didn’t take long after Walker signed elsewhere.

Goldy still hit the ball hard last year and was decent as the year went on. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him put up a .270/.350/.450 line in that park with that lineup.

What is going to happen with Anthony Rizzo?

Heck, the Yankees have the type of funding that could platoon Goldschmidt and Rizzo as a R/L dual GG at 1B.

    Maybe he will last forever.

Glad Goldy is getting a shot to play another year. I think he is pretty much done and won’t be much help to the Bombers, but then it seems former Cardinals always find new life in New York.

He is a free agent coming off a worse season than Goldschmidt

I wish Goldy all the best and would like to see him finish up on a high note.

Goldy will like the lox and bagels in NYC. Outside of a reunion with the Ari or in Colorado. That ballpark is suited for guys like him.

Maybe he’ll do for the Yankees what Eddie did for the Dodgers. Stranger things have happened.

Goldy is going to have to get out the razor and shave the stubble. The Yanks don’t go for that.

Still not a finer defensive 1st baseman on the planet. He’ll do great in pinstripes.

I hope he earns another season. I know he wanted multiple, sometimes its best to earn it on the field.

The Yankees and Red Sox have both done some good things this off season despite the pinstripes losing Soto. Heck, in the long run that might be a blessing. Goldy on a one year deal is perfect for the Bombers.

I think Arenado ends up with one of those two clubs, Boston or the New York Americans.
