Through just four innings in the Yankees-Red Sox game, 1B ump Angel Hernandez already has had four instant replays and three were overturned. Terrible!
And he gets balls and strikes for Game 4…
October 8, 2018 at 11:41 pm #72048Red Sox blow out Yanks in Yankee Stadium to take a 2-1 lead. This is the last Division Series to be decided.
Game 4 Tuesday night is Rick Porcello vs. C.C. Sabathia.
October 9, 2018 at 10:04 am #72068How Angel Hernandez still has a job is amazing. More so, how in the world does he get a playoff assignment? The umpires union must still have some clout.
October 9, 2018 at 10:16 am #72069I learned Hernandez has an open lawsuit against MLB for discrimination.

October 9, 2018 at 2:22 pm #72083Latest from the odds-makers at Bovada.lv.
2018 World Series – Odds to Win
Houston Astros 11/5
Boston Red Sox 3/1
Los Angeles Dodgers 3/1
Milwaukee Brewers 7/2
New York Yankees 11/1October 9, 2018 at 6:56 pm #72101Very very refreshing to not see the cubbies on that odds board….but who are we to talk….we’re not listed either. But I do find pleasure in them losing their final 2…….and doing so in front of their own so called fans.
October 9, 2018 at 7:59 pm #72105Things looking good for the Red Sox early on. They’ve jumped in front of the Yankees 3-0 in the 3rd and are threatening to score more.
Might we see a repeat of the Astros/Red Sox series from last year?

October 9, 2018 at 8:08 pm #72108Glad we have replay reviews for games today. Can’t wait for balls and strikes to go electronic. Playoffs games, and all games really, are too important for inept umps to change the outcomes.
I remember when TV slo-mo replay started in the 70s. Announcers would often say it was amazing how often replay confirmed what we already knew . . . the umps get it right the overwhelming majority of the time. Today, it doesn’t seem that way. Is it because the umps aren’t as good now and expansion has given us a larger pool of overall lower average quality umps . . . or is it because there are just so many more games and calls that are scrutinized with today’s more precise technology?
Red Sox up 3-0 after 3 innings.
October 9, 2018 at 8:14 pm #72110Sox just went up 4-0 in the 4th on a HR by Vazquez off Britton. I think I’ll not short my sleep and call it a night. Sox have this series — Billy Crystal and the rest of the Yanks fans look pretty subdued.
October 9, 2018 at 8:33 pm #72113Don’t ever underestimate the curse of the Bambino, gentlemen. He can still pop up at any time and nip the Sox.
October 9, 2018 at 10:01 pm #72119If you’re a Yanks fan you have to be thinking that’s it’s just not fair that the likes of a Chris Sale could be brought into this game in the 8th inning.
