Help me understand these new leagues sanctioned by MLB. I know the Appalachian League is one of them but really know nothing about them. Can these players be signed by MLB teams or will these players have to go through the draft? Or are these teams made up of non-drafted players from this last draft? Sorry to be so dense, but I just haven’t read much of anything on them!

I have no idea, but am guessing these guy are all available for any big league team to sign. Sort of like the old days when scouts searched out guys and recommended guys they felt had the talent to play in the big leagues some day.
