Just wanted to try to put everything in one thread. Wondering how you are grading each individual and total team transactions so far.
Matz – Grade C – Is he the 2020 or 2021 version. ERA over nine, even in a 60 game season, is Pepe Le Pew level. Crossing fingers for last years version.
VerHagen – Grade D – Who? Was horrible in the majors, went to Japan and was okay at best.
Wittgren – Grade C+ – Has at least been decent in the majors.
McAllister – Grade D- – At least it’s a minor league deal.
Overall grade so far C-.
Please tell me there is something in the future. Doesn’t have to be a FA signing. Mo seems to be better making trades anyway.
The Rockies just signed Jose Iglesias to play SS. Will Trevor Story be on the move in the very near future?
BTW, as a former school teacher I pretty much agree with your grading scale above.

Corey Dickerson – C- Lets face it, he would have been behind at least 7-8 other left handed free agent bats.
Leaves overall off season grade at C-.
I wish Soler or Castellanos had been left handed. Though they almost certainly would have cost too much also.
Remaining FA’s
Carlos Correa – SS – Would lift overall grade to A range. A man can dream.
Trevor Story – SS – Would still be an upgrade and maybe to C+.
Nick Castellanos – DH – Wish he was a lefty.
Jorge Soler – DH – See above.
Kenley Jansen – RP – Still waiting on their high leverage reliever.
Michael Conforto – OF – Lefty bat, coming off 1st bad year.
Danny Duffy SP – Buy low candidate coming off of injury.
Michael Pineda – SP – Back of the rotation insurance.Remaining FA’s

Michael Pineda – SP – Back of the rotation insurance.I’m really glad they didn’t sign Jansen at 16m with his bb/9 rate going way up and his former team not seeming to care to sign him. Looks like Holland deal 2.0. Of those names I’d have been dreaming on Conforto but 5mil to Dickerson knocks that out. I’d just as soon go with Woodford or Libertore as most of the retreads available. Brooks looked ok today. Maybe one of these new signings can hold the spot a month until Libertore can be held another year
