ParticipantI saw just two days ago it was going to be different, lots different so not sure which one is right. I liked the one i saw two days ago. Esprcially the cap with the redbird on the arch.
May 17, 2024 at 8:20 pm #252535I like those!

ParticipantWell i guess these red ones are the right ones. Very boring to me. I like the logos but eveeything else seems too safe. I guess it goes with how this organization is ran now.

ParticipantI guess the one i saw before was a fans concept. Its pretty bad when fans can come up with better uniforms than the companies that are making them.
May 20, 2024 at 8:05 am #252914Additional detail.
Here are more looks at the #STLCards new City Connect uniforms that were unveiled minutes ago. The club will wear them 12 times this season and for the first time on Friday vs. the #Cubs. https://t.co/Au89dJiiFN pic.twitter.com/PfhHuQPcp8

May 20, 2024 at 8:07 am #252915Those are sharp. I may have to get me a new jersey and a pair of socks.
May 20, 2024 at 1:04 pm #252938I suggest a discrete battery pack powering LEDs, and maybe Fredbird feet.

May 20, 2024 at 5:34 pm #252956They had Nelly do a hype video for the uniforms. Also has the story of how they came up with the uniforms.
May 20, 2024 at 5:48 pm #252957None of the photos show the stirrup socks.
May 20, 2024 at 5:57 pm #252960That explains the tasteful and refined nature of the design…

Participant1td gotit right….. anything to sell more merchandise.
Bling…. Had to laugh at the Fredbird feet. The NBA started this and anything from the NBA is pure nonsense.
May 21, 2024 at 10:23 am #253103I know MLB feels they have to jazz things up to appeal to the younger audience but I have always felt that the Cardinals and Dodgers had the two most classic and pristine looking uniforms in the league and shouldn’t be tampered with.
May 21, 2024 at 10:35 am #253107They already use the players for a billboard, now what, a mannequin to display the new merch? I guess if they pay me 800K or better they can dress me up however they want.
May 21, 2024 at 10:50 am #253109They’ll cash in on the tendency towards the cheap and gawdy taste of the loud and flashy crowd. These types are easliy amused and can be readily manipulated for financial benefit.
May 21, 2024 at 5:55 pm #253138It is definitely about revenue, but I have to say I kind of like those. I think all teams are coming up with those “city connect” uni’s.
I am hesitant to embrace a trend of a different uni for every day of the week, but a different one here and there is cool. The Rockies went way overboard where they had about a dozen different combos. It was ridiculous, but I think they have dialed that back some in recent seasons.

MrperkinsParticipantI have a nice collection of about 400 hats, most of them from hat club or lids. It helped being single through my 30’s as now that I am 45 and married for 7 years my collection is growing a lot slower. I’ll probably grab one of the Cardinals but am not greatly enamored with it. I got a city connect for the White Sox, Royals, Red Sox, and Rockies so far.

May 24, 2024 at 12:55 pm #253401John Denton’s tweet above said Friday, but the list just above says Saturday.
Anyway, the socks do not look like stirrup socks.
May 24, 2024 at 1:46 pm #253407I remember wearing those stretch stirrup socks back in the ‘70s. We would pull them way up like the big leaguers, so it was just a colored line down your ankle. With our Little League uni’s, which for me as in the ‘60s, you could not stretch the socks way up like that. Looking back now I like the “normal” look of the stirrups better than the stretch look. But in the ‘70s you had to stretch ‘em to be cool. 😀
