BA ranks C Sebastian Rojas as the no. 7 prospect in the DSL.

I had him 48th on my August list, but Kyle wasn’t there yet, so he fell to the Best of the Rest.

I notice Mr. Rojas just turned 18. Happy birthday to him. 18 yrs old was when my baseball playing came to a screeching halt. It was about a week before the season and I had just been informed I had made the team as a freshman. Big 8 baseball programs did not red shirt in those days, so it was active roster. Then a devastating off field leg injury ended it. I kept up with some of my peers for a few years and all of them eventually dropped off for some reason. Physical, unsteady commitment, academic, behavioral, legal trouble, drug use in one case. It seemed like a gauntlet and there were endless ways for a young person to go wrong. I always keep my fingers crossed for youngsters hoping it goes well for them.
