I would like to think this August 3 players meeting in Cincinnati is what the recent surge will be attributed to, rather than a stray cat on the field.

In that appears to be a custody battle, the Cards are being accused of bullying by the feral cat group who rescued the Rally Cat. Not a good look for the team. Getting national attention, with this article from the Washington Post.
The feral cat outreach group that has the Rally Cat hired a lawyer and discussions with the Cardinals are not going well.
The decision has been made. The cat is not going to the Cardinals.
