I hope this means he made some demands regarding talent acquisition, that the owner agreed to the demands, and he got it in writing.

They’re not going to give Arenado anything in writing.

Mentioned on another thread that Arenado would not find a better situation for himself unless the Dodgers contacted him and said if he opted out they would be making him an offer.
There was no guarantee that he would get offers from contending teams. The Cardinals are in the post season hunt every year. He is in a good place.
He only had 5 days after World Series ended to opt in, so that wouldn’t work
