Will stay with the Redbirds through the 2027 season.

Good news. And I needed some because the Jasper Wildcats got upset last night by the Evansville Memorial Tigers 21-18. Season is now done.

NOTE: As big as this news is I thought it might deserve it’s own thread. Fine with me if a Mod wants to move it somewheres else.

Yeah I had already posted the announcement in the 2023 thread.

I never thought for a minute that Arenado would opt out.

I hope this means he made some demands regarding talent acquisition, that the owner agreed to the demands, and he got it in writing.

ZTR, I couldn’t agree with that more.

They’re not going to give Arenado anything in writing.

They’ll say that they will try very.

He should have never agreed to stay until they actually had the players he wants in the fold.

Poor Nolan, on a team that is not WS worthy.

Poor Nolan, he clean up hitter who hit .125 in the WC series.

Mentioned on another thread that Arenado would not find a better situation for himself unless the Dodgers contacted him and said if he opted out they would be making him an offer.

There was no guarantee that he would get offers from contending teams. The Cardinals are in the post season hunt every year. He is in a good place.

He only had 5 days after World Series ended to opt in, so that wouldn’t work
