Adams is an acceptable left-hander off the bench. Nice guy qualities aside, he’s not worth juggling the present lineup to squeeze him in. And before you start talking about putting him in left to replace injured Ozuna, just think about the brief experiment with him there before his departure.
I don’t think that Adams was brought back to be a starter. He was brought back to be a LH PH. Saying that, he is a streaky hitter, and if he’s hitting well, they’ll find a spot for him. Will he be brought back for ’19? Right now I’d say no, but what do i know.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Adams getting a few starts as our lineup really needs more balance. We have too many guys who are so susceptible to that sweeping slider from RH pitchers (Gyroko, DeJong, Bader, etc…) We could use another LH bat.
