I believe today is the end of the regular season for the GCL and Dominican and our three teams are a collective 63 games over .500
GCL 24 games over
DSLBlue 30 games over
DSLRed 9 games over
Hopefully we have talent capable of moving up and returning to a strong system from top to bottom.
Long way from this level to full season baseball and a lot of stars at this level are not around very long for lack of ability to advance.
A lot of this is due to a stronger Latin program which the Cardinals abandoned in the early 2000’s. Who gets credit for the improvement and who other than Nunez seems capable of moving up quickly.
As CC said, the GCL roster is skewed older. The DSL teams slugged their way to winning. However, Red team ERA is 41st of 44 DSL teams, right around five. Blue pitching is just below the middle of the pack.
Moises Rodriguez is also not out of the international picture, just like Mo did not stop doing GM tasks. International is highly relationship-driven and that takes time. Those promotions seemed more about titles than major changes in responsibilities.
