Does Springfield carry the rain with them where ever they go to play? Another rainout this week and I bet there is another in the forecast for this week.

Ray Rodriguez also with a great day in Florida. 2 for 3 with a 2B, HR, and walk.

Do we think Kross, Honeyman, or anyone else will be promoted some time soon? Kross had another HR tonight to give him 8 on the year. Both to me feel like guys that shouldn’t stay in Palm Beach too long.

One guy I am surprised isn’t performing much better is Gastelum, but I think it is small sample size luck. He is 32.1% and only walking 7.5%, but still has a 9.58 ERA due to a horrible .517 BABIP. FIP is a good 3.17 for him

The Cardinals typically don’t make their first promotions until June.

I do think Kross should be promoted now. He has maintained his OBP while adding power.

Honeyman – I would wait until June as he simply hasn’t played in enough games over the last three years.

I don’t really care how many games he has played in the past 3 years. I am challenging Honeyman if I am the FO as he needs to move up the ladder.

McGreevy with a pretty good start earlier today. 5 IP with 9 Ks to 1 BB. 1 ER on 5 hits.

Of course you don’t care. You were arguing he should be promoted after his second game of the season.

In most corporations, if you want a promotion, you have to show up for work. Honeyman simply hasn’t shown up for work. Even this year, he has played 1/3 fewer games than Josh Kross. And his OPS has fallen by 150 pts in the past week. Small sample sizes are a thing.

I don’t think you read my full post then. I do think he needs to be promoted. But the reason why is he is a big kid playing in the little kids area. A top couple of rounds college hitter often can just skip the A level, but Honeyman is still there after a few years. For his rule 5 status, the Cards have to be more aggressive and promote him at some point.

I’m thinking maybe Josh “Chris” Kross bypasses beautiful Peoria, Illinois altogether and is fast tracked straight to Springfield. And what the heck is McGreevy still doing down in Memphis? I’d love to read just one good reason for this injustice. With the pitching situation presently being so efficient, you just hate to complain, but his ommission from the big club is ridiculous. How about sending Mikolas to the pen and starting McGreevy every 5 days. He won’t disappoint.

I doubt they skip Kross over A+, but I wouldn’t be upset if they did. Peoria this year seems to be where you go to be stagnant and not improve. I’m unsure of the coaching quality there.

Completely agree on McGreevy needing to be in the bigs. Find a spot for him. He is starter workload ready so get him a spot in the rotation. He pitched 153 innings in 2023 and 173 in 2024.
