JJ was 4/5 with 2 doubles.

JJ is on fire. The ball must look like a beach ball coming in right now. He’s why I’d be ok with cashing out Donovan for starting pitching help.

Very nice seeing Jacob Edger Odle finally tossing a nice game. I have high hopes for this fellow. If he ever does make it all of the way up, we’ll definitely have to acquire Ober via trade. How would that be for a 1-2 punch…..Ober pitching the first game of a twin bill and Odle the second.

Anyone heard anything in Padilla? He left a game a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t seen anything since. Seems obvious he is injured but unsure for how long.

When Davis and some other sub 6 foot pitchers were taken Flores was questioned and said think of it as low release point. I got a chuckle out of that. But he is the type the Cardinals have to be able to make something of. 5th round, not a top 250 guy but was a Big 12 friday night starter who did well his junior year. Profiles as LH reliever. PD has to be able to churn out middle relief if they can’t do anything else. He’s in A ball so who knows, but the new regime will have a go at him. (The community had him #46 on our Top 50 list)

The “low release point” comment is especially amusing considering how much Davis throws over the top. See photo just above.
