June 18, 2025 at 8:38 pm #285074Quinn had a much better start today in terms of results. He still had 2 walks though and threw 42 strikes out of 72 so not as many as I would like to see from him. Ixan had another good start as well.
Gasteleum pitched well again too and I’m curious when the Cards will send him to Memphis. The ERA isn’t great, but that was weighed down by some bad April games and the sample size for RP so a bad outing or 2 takes a lot of time to recover the ERA from. I’m hoping by July they send him to Memphis.
Ralston has also been performing quite well and deserves a AAA promotion. Maybe both him and Gasteleum happen when the draft occurs and they make room for new guys and move A to A+, A+ to AA, and AA to AAA while cutting the weak links.

stlcard25ParticipantBaez with two more homers last night. You love to see the forward progress.
Peoria is such an outlier in the system right now that I’m tempted to shade any results from there against what seems to be pointing to a less than stellar coaching staff.

June 20, 2025 at 12:23 pm #28517025,
I agree with your thoughts on Peoria. Something seems really off there and I hope to see a complete staff change there for next year.

stlcard25ParticipantTink Hence with 4.1 hitless innings in his return to Springfield, 1 walk and 8 Ks. Encouraging to see.
June 20, 2025 at 10:29 pm #285220Agree 25. Springfield finished off the no-hitter. I was glad to see Hence throw a high percentage of strikes. 8 Ks of the 13 batters he faced (1 guy was caught stealing by Bernal). Austin Love also filled up the strike zone. He has good stuff and his problem this year has been walks, but that isn’t unexpected for a guy to not see the mound as long as he has before this year.
Rainiel hasn’t been playing great since the promotion. I was a little surprised they promoted him so fast and though it would be a few more weeks, but hopefully the challenge forces him to adjust and overcome adversity.
