(and Bally Sports Southeast/Southwest Extra)The Doppler Radar shows a lot of green stuff headed towards St. Louis this afternoon. Hopefully it gets out of the area in time for 1st pitch.
Anybody have any idea what time the Giants and Reds are starting up their suspended game?
The suspended Reds-Giants game starts at 5:40pm eastern time, 6:40pm central, 7:40pm mountain, 8:40pm Pacific and for Cardinal In France, the game commences at 11:40am, Rat.

Two questions:
First, have we really annointed Tyler O’Neill as the starting LFer now?
Second, if we have done that, why did we do that???
How long will it be before he is hurt again? He’s been in the big leagues six years now and has only had one decent year. The rest of the time it seems like he is always hurt or something. He should have been eating hot dogs and drinking beer instead of lifting weights and consuming all those supplements, energy drinks, etc, etc.
And the Reds lose their 5th straight. The Giants prevail in the suspended game 4-2 in 10 innings. The regular scheduled game is coming up.
Radar shows clear in the St. Louis area now.
It’s best to entirely disregard those radars unless it’s raining. And if it isn’t raining, I always step outside onto the patio to determine whether or not it is. If it is, I simply go back inside…
Funny, the Doppler Radar shows all clear in Cincinnati. But…..the Giants and Reds are currently in a rain delay for their regularly scheduled game.
Radar shows all clear in St. Louis. I hope so.
Keep seeing that lineup with Goldy second and Nooty third. Makes me think that if Marmol were managing a 1950s Cardinal team, he would have Stan in the 2 slot and Red at 3.
He surely would have hit Ted Williams at 2, or maybe even lead off with that OBP Williams had if Ollie was the Red Sox manager in a time warp.
Now again, I always hedge my comment by noting that hitting a power guy at 2 in a DH lineup does have some justification. But in my mind, only if you have enough power in your lineup to justify it. We are not exactly a powerhouse other than Goldy and Nado. Some potential is there with Gorman and Walker, but they are a couple of years away. If we had 2021 O’Neill, then I could live with Goldy at 2. With this group, not so much.
Two questions:

Can’t up trade value for someone if they aren’t playing.
Let’s hope he hits .250, hits 2-3 homers and doesn’t get hurt.
In 179 AB’s this season from the lead-off slot Donovan’s placed a .309 BA into the books. That’s pretty good.
TB’s ÷ AB’s = slg%
(a workable ratio that can be applied to every player, regardless of total AB differences)
I had forgotten about this, but the entire Big Leagues didn’t produce a solitary pitcher that worked more than 1 shutout in 2022. To me, that’s not only astounding, but also a little sad.
Once through the order and both teams appear to be mystified at the plate. Starting to look like a pitchers game. Montgomwry lookin’good.
I’m not really interested in venturing a guess as to whether Montgomery will realize some genuine success after he signs with some team for a lot of money next winter, but I have to acknowledge that he impresses me as a pitcher who has a pretty good idea of what he’s doing out there on the pitcher’s mound. He genuinely looks like he has some sort of a stratagem designed to record outs.
Yeah, me too, Wooster. But I also always liked to watch a pitcher entirely shut a team down for 9 innings. And you could always tell that the great pitchers really enjoyed it when they did so. They had the look that said, “You don’t score, you can’t win.” I’ll always maintain that a shutout is better than a no-no in the sense that it’s very possible to lose a no-no. A shutout guarantees a W.
